SURREY NAMED ONE OF “THE NEXT GREAT FOOD CITIES”

Surrey, British Columbia has been named one of the twelve best emerging cities for food lovers to visit in the world by Food & Wine and is the only Canadian city to be included in the list. 

Listed among the likes of Marseille, Venice, Kanazawa and La Paz, Surrey made the list for the diversity of global cuisines reflected in the city’s rich food culture.

SURREY & WHITE ROCK ENTREPRENEURS AWARDED GRANTS & MENTORSHIPS TO HELP “SPARK” NEW TOURISM IDEAS

Three finalists who made winning pitches for the Surrey “Spark” Program were each awarded a $3,000 seed grant and mentorship to help them get started with their new tourism ideas.

The Surrey “Spark” Mentorships & Grants Program is a collaborative partnership initiative between Discover Surrey, Destination BC and the Tourism Innovation Lab.

Surrey Through My Lens - Showcasing six authentic photo essays through the lens of local photographers

Discover Surrey’s newly launched local photography and advocacy campaign, “Surrey Through My Lens,” brings together six local amateur photographers to share a visual of what it is really like to live in and visit Surrey from a range of perspectives. Each photographer is local to one of Surrey’s six distinct neighbourhoods (Cloverdale, Guildford, Newton, Fleetwood, North Surrey, and South Surrey); their local insight puts them in a unique position to capture an authentic story of the neighbourhood’s true essence and highlight local businesses that are a part of Surrey’s distinctive tapestry.

NEW PROGRAM AIMS TO “SPARK” INNOVATIVE TOURISM IDEAS IN SURREY AND WHITE ROCK

A new program aimed at sparking and supporting innovative tourism ideas in the Vancouver, Coast and Mountains region was officially announced today by local and provincial tourism partners.

The “Spark” Mentorships & Grants Program will match selected applicants from the region with a tourism mentor, provide a $3,000 grant and additional partner support to help take their new tourism ideas to the next level of development.
