From April 20 to May 31, we invite you to stroll the streets of Cloverdale and partake in our Tourism Challenge Scavenger Hunt.
To receive your stamps, you will need to uncover the secret phrase by solving eight riddles, each one leading you to a new location throughout the area. At every new location, you will find a portion of the secret phrase either taped to the storefront window or, in the case of a few murals and storyboard podiums, written directly on the wall and signs.
Solve all eight riddles listed below, discover the full phrase and then make your way to the Museum of Surrey to earn your stamps.
Cloverdale is full of wonders, both past and present. As you make your way through the scavenger hunt, don’t forget to take some time to experience all that the neighbourhood has to offer. Please note that while the businesses of Cloverdale are excited to have you, we kindly ask you respect the employees and other patrons in the area.

Your journey begins at Hawthorne Square (176th street and 57th avenue).
Standing in Hawthorn Square, look for a welcoming sign. The five-word title is what you need to find.
Hint: Having trouble finding it? Look for the little storyboard in the square explaining how Cloverdale welcomes people.
Next, walk south down the street and take a glance. You’ll find what you’re looking for at the store with many plants.
Onto the next, you must be pretty smart. You’ll find your next clue right at the heart.
Keep walking, don’t be afraid to take a chance. You’ll have your next clue in a beautiful life in France.
Take a stroll across the street, don’t stop or stall, you’re looking for a singular word painted largely on a wall.
Hint: Having trouble finding it? Check behind the CUPE 402 building.
Go back and cross the road, it isn’t a maze. You’re looking for a yellow mural and the eighth word in that phrase.
You’re almost done with this whole thing, it’s coming into alignment. You’ll get your next clue by looking for the consignment.
Walk south toward the Train Conductor statue and between two benches you’ll find a sign. Grab the first word of the title in green and you’ll be just fine.

You’ve got the secret phrase, congratulations you’re a champ! Now take it to the Museum of Surrey to get your stamp!
