Surrey has always been welcoming to new residents from across Canada and around the globe. This has been a key element that has transformed Surrey into a vibrant urban city that will soon be the largest in BC. The community’s size and diversity brings with it many amazing stories and every member of our community and every visitor experiences Surrey’s six distinct neighbourhoods through a different lens. With such a wide range of things to do and ways to experience them, the real story of Surrey needs to be told using many voices from all walks of life.
Starting with six local photographers, Surrey Through My Lens proudly shares authentic photo essays that showcase what it is really like to live in and visit our community from a range of perspectives. Every two weeks we will release a new feature focused on one of Surrey’s six neighbourhoods and its visual storyteller. Each photographer has a deep connection with their community and neighbourhood that helps them say, “this what Surrey looks like through my lens,” in a compelling and personal way.
So make sure to check back regularly to see each new feature. If you’d like to share what your Surrey looks like, upload a photo using the form below and let everyone know what makes our city such a unique and inspiring place to live and visit. Keep your eyes on our social channels, too, (Instagram or Facebook) as we’ll be featuring community photos along the way.
