April Events in Surrey

Surrey’s event season is kicking off in April with a bounty of special events, productions, and garden openings taking place.

Earth Day Celebration

2019’s edition of the annual Party for the Planet is getting a little reboot. You can still expect the same family-friendly activities, but with an extra emphasis on how to implement green strategies into your every day life. Take part in a selection of 7 work shops, browse the sustainable marketplace, and maybe even pick up a new plant or two. The fun takes place on April 13th at the Surrey Civic Plaza from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Cultural Celebration

The annual Vaisakhi Parade hits the streets of Surrey on April 20 from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Vaisakhi is a celebration of the spring harvest, the Punjabi New Year, and the birth of Sikhism. You can expect colourful floats, live music, and incredible food.

Flora and Fauna

One of Surrey’s most beautiful gardens, Darts Hill Garden, opens its doors for the 2019 season on April 5. Darts Hill Garden is the culmination of 70 years of work by Francisca Darts and her husband Edwin. They poured over the land and planted a beautiful selection of bulbs, perennials, shrubs, and trees which you can experience for yourself. If you can’t make it April 5, Darts Hill Garden is open most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the Spring and Summer.

Little Theatre

Ever wanted an inside look at a Tupperware Party? Sealed for Freshness hits the stage at the Surrey Little Theatre From April 18 through to May 11. This fun, martini-fueled play brings together all sorts of outrageous personalities to reveal secrets and insecurities.
