    • #YesSurrey - How we'll use your photos

    Discover Surrey is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of tourism opportunities in Surrey and increasing overnight visitors to the city. We work with a network of partners and supporters to ensure we’re promoting Surrey as the authentic and wonderful city it is.

    Key to our promotion efforts are locals and visitors to Surrey who share their experiences through social media. Most commonly, we will ask for the following usage rights from users with public social media profiles:

    Social Channels & Website

    This permission grants Discover Surrey:

    • The right to use the image(s) or video(s) with credit on Discover Surrey’s website, in a gallery, as a single-photo embed within a story, or as a story header photo, and
    • The right to use your image(s) or video content as a stand-alone piece or edited into a longer piece, with your credit, that can be shared across our owned social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
    • the right to make minor editing adjustments, including, but not limited to, cropping, colour correction, changing the music selection, editing out parts of the video etc.

    Digital and/or printed materials

    This permission grants Discover Surrey:

    • The right to use the image(s) or video(s) with credit in any of its digital or printed marketing materials used to promote and/or increase awareness of Surrey, including but not limited to a printed Visitor Guide, digital newsletter, rack cards, flat sheets, social media advertising campaigns, TV advertising, etc., as well as:
    • the right to make minor editing adjustments, such as cropping, color correction, etc.

    Not included:

    Discover Surrey will not:

    • Sell your image to 3rd parties
    • Give permission to 3rd parties to use your photo
    • Use your photo in any for-profit projects
