Get into the Halloween spirit and pick that perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin at one of Surrey’s expansive pumpkin patches. Pumpkin patches are open at Hazelmere Pumpkin PatchRondriso Farms and Port Kells Nursery.

Every year Surrey’s arts and culture community embraces Culture Days and puts on an impressive display of talent and inspiration, and this year is no different. Until October 25, 2020, lose yourself in a labyrinth of hundreds of virtual concerts, live shows, exhibits, demonstrations, workshops and more … and every option is completely free!

The Bear Creek forest comes alive after dark with ghosts and ghouls intent on scaring you amidst creepy sounds and special effects. Favourite characters like Chainsaw Charlie are back and you might also run into the walking dead who roam the platform! The Scream Train is recommended for older children who can handle being scared.  The more timid passengers will love the Pumpkin Patch train as it travels through the decorated forest to the pumpkin patch!

What a Blast!

Enjoy a rousing performance from members of Surrey City Orchestra. This lively hour of music will feature musicians from the brass section, who will delight audiences with a variety of styles of music, all washed down with a selection of amusing stories and anecdotes. (Available to watch online until Nov 27)

Honeybee Extraction Workshops

Have you ever wondered how bees make honey? Take a Honey Extraction Workshop with your family and learn all about bees and the important role they play in our lives. Learn about how honey is made, where honey comes from and how it gets from the hive to the jar!  AND… taste raw honey from the frame. Watch as honey from the local Community Bee Garden hives is uncapped by hand and extracted from the comb. Take a taste of fresh honey then watch it being bottled. Honey Extraction Workshops take place on October 7 (adults only)October 14, October 20 and October 28.  Pre-registration is required.
