Did you know that Cloverdale is actually a part of Surrey? We know, we know, it seems pretty obvious to US, but it’s not as commonly-known as you’d think. Many people who don’t visit Surrey on a regular basis tend to think that Cloverdale is it’s own municipality, and we can understand why. Cloverdale locals are very proud to call this neighbourhood their home. Their passion to support their local businesses and showcase their community is strong.
We’ve teamed up with Mike Lutke (you may know him as @delorean_mike on Instagram), a Cloverdale resident, to help guide us through beautiful Cloverdale for our Discover Downtown Cloverdale Instameet! As Surrey’s first neighbourhood, Cloverdale has a bounty of heritage, history, and let’s be honest, it’s a downright adorable community.
Join us as we kick off our Instameet at the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway with a tour of their vintage Carbarn, which is filled with railway cars that have not only been restored, but are fully functional! Then, we’ll travel on foot, a short distance, to explore the Cloverdale Market Days! Explore the local vendors and artisans, with beautiful colours and lots of people, there will be a TON of photo opportunities! Below are the details for the day:
Where: Meet at the the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway 17630 56 Avenue
Date: June 24, 2017
Time: 9:30am – 12:00pm
Instameets are a wonderful opportunity to meet local photographers, have a little fun, and show the rest of Beautiful British Columbia your Surrey story. The only thing we ask is that you use the hashtags #TrueSurrey and #DiscoverDowntownCloverdale in your captions, dress for the weather, and have fun!
