Time Travel

You don’t need a Delorean to go back in time, any car will do (even a train car). For example, visit Cloverdale, Surrey’s original settlement. At nearly 1 million square kilometres, BC is huge, and the methods settlers used to traverse this massive province laid the foundation of our infrastructure today.

BC Vintage Truck Museum

Opened in 2013, the BC Vintage Truck Museum (6022 176 Street) is a blast for young and old. The museum hosts a collection of vehicles, tools, and models all of which served our province in someway or another since 1914. Some members of the collection make the rounds at car shows throughout BC, but their permanent home is right here in Cloverdale.

Elisabeth’s Chalet Restaurant

Serving the Fraser Valley for over 30 years, Elisabeth’s Chalet (17785 Highway 10) is a staple in the community. They specialise in European dishes like schnitzels and bratwurst, and also serve up a mean steak. The restaurant itself makes you feel like you’re in an Austrian cottage, with authentic Bavarian woodwork.

Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society

The Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society (5858 176 Street) has been collecting trains and educating visitors since 2001. The Society is run by dedicated volunteers that have helped it operate for nearly 2 decades. They offer round-trip train rides every weekend all summer long on expertly restored passenger cars that date back to 1913. It’s an awesome activity for adults and kids, putting the “all” in “all aboard!”
