Coastal City Ballet Presents: The Sleeping Beauty

Classical ballet’s greatest masterpiece, The Sleeping Beauty is a world premiere for Coastal City Ballet and another significant addition to its repertoire. A treat for all ages, audiences will be captivated by this timeless tale. When the maleficent Carabosse lays a curse on the newborn Princess Aurora, only the power of love can break the evil spell that has cast Aurora into a century-long slumber. Car Free Day Surrey

Surrey’s annual Car Free Day will take place Saturday, June 10 in Newton! Presented by the Newton Business Improvement Association in partnership with TransLink, the event will transform 137th Street into a pedestrian paradise of entertainment stages, artisan vendors, local merchants and family-friendly fun! Enjoy live music, a dance battle, a kid-friendly fun zone and a variety of food trucks that will take over the street. Entertainers include Canadian-British singer Luv Randhawa, eight-piece funk, reggae and hip-hop band MNGWA, Glisha, and Haleluya Hailu. And watch for the Discover Surrey mobile visitor information centre with tips on fun things to see and do and swag giveaways!
5X Fest

Surrey Civic Plaza & Surrey Art Gallery
5X Fest is Canada’s largest South Asian youth culture celebration. It’s a multi-day, multi-venue festival showcasing music, visual art, fashion, and culture. The 5X Block Party, on June 17, is the event’s flagship music festival. Taking place at Surrey Civic Plaza, the event showcases Surrey’s finest, including a concert, food vendors, art installations and a vendor village. The 5X Art Party, held at the Surrey Art Gallery on June 18, brings together some of the most exciting artists Metro Vancouver’s South Asian art scene has to offer for an evening of creativity and artistic expression.
Surrey Fest

Holland Park
Head to Holland Park on June 17 for a day of fun and community celebration at Surrey Fest! There will be vendors, music, prizes, and entertainment for the whole family. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the festival. There is always something new or different for preschoolers, children, youth, adults, and seniors at the festival. As many as 4,000 people visit the festival each year to view the exhibits as well as enjoy food and live entertainment.
Father’s Day at Historic Stewart Farm

Historic Stewart Farm
Celebrate Dad with trains and history at Historic Stewart Farm. The Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club will also be onsite with a large-scale model railway display on the lawn. With some locomotive inspiration, head to Stewart Hall to make a train-themed Father’s Day card. The farmhouse will be open for drop-in visits as well.
National Indigenous Peoples Day

Join Surrey’s National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration and Wellness Event on Wednesday, June 21 from 3 to 8 pm at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale. Hosted by the local land-based First Nations, Semiahma (Semiahmoo), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), this Indigenous-led event is an opportunity to acknowledge and show respect and admiration for Indigenous Peoples past, present and future; to share cultural history; and to share spirit, experiences, stories, song, art and dance with each other and the community.
SENSES 2023 – Family Summer Kick Off

Start your summer right at the Museum of Surrey! The Senses Family Summer Kick-Off runs from 1-4 pm with sensory-friendly activities inside and out. Meet Raj the Raccoon, blow bubbles, make crafts and enjoy sensory kits and beach-themed sensory bins. Community partners will be on site to make the celebration even better! Tour the museum during the free event too.
PRIDE in Surrey Shines Through

Surrey Civic Theatres and Surrey Archives have united to create a PRIDE-filled day for the local community to enjoy. This special and inclusive day is certain to overflow your rainbow cup with love! Enjoy a reception in the City Hall atrium as well as a digital exhibition in Centre Stage, featuring collections documenting Surrey’s 2SLGBTQ+ history. Don’t miss a screening of the film Emergence at 3:30 pm followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers and cast. The event wraps up with The Rainbow Flame: a Pride Storytelling Event, curated by Deb Williams.

The theme of this year’s Surrey Pride Festival is “Stronger Together”. Head to Surrey Civic Plaza on June 24 from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm for an evening celebrating love, diversity, and inclusivity. 2023 marks the 24th anniversary of Surrey’s Pride Festival and the event will feature an all-local lineup of live musical entertainment, lip-sync performances and a fabulous lineup of drag performers.
