UBER & LYFT
Ride-sharing apps, like Uber and Lyft operate throughout Surrey and the Metro Vancouver area. Download the app, set your destination, and book a ride in minutes. Available 24/7.
Ideal for point-to-point travel, especially if unfamiliar with transit routes or you prefer door-to-door service. Most drivers accept card payments through the app.
TAXI
Licensed taxi services are available throughout Surrey. You can hail a cab on the street, call dispatch, or use taxi apps. Fares are metered and regulated.
A traditional option for airport pickups, late-night travel, or if you prefer not to use a mobile app. Drivers accept cash and card payments.
CAR SHARE
Evo and Modo (to a lesser extent) offer short-term car rentals by the hour or day. Pick up a vehicle at key locations in Surrey and pay only for what you use—ideal if you need a car for a few hours without committing to a full rental.
You must hold a valid driver's licence with at least two years of driving experience, and there is a pre-approval process, so we recommend signing up prior to your visit.
SKYTRAIN & LOCAL BUSES
The SkyTrain Expo Line runs through Surrey with multiple stations. Frequent local buses connect to all major attractions, shopping, and dining.
The system is clean, reliable, and affordable. Purchase a Compass Card (reloadable transit card) or single tickets at any station. Off-peak fares are cheaper than rush-hour travel.

RENTAL CAR
Major car rental agencies operate at Vancouver International Airport and throughout Surrey. A rental car is ideal if you want to explore Surrey and surrounding areas at your own pace.
You'll need a valid driver's license (International Driving Permit if from outside North America), proof of insurance, and a credit card. Fuel and parking are your responsibility.
If crossing into the US, confirm your vehicle rental agreement covers cross-border travel. Some US border crossings have vehicle inspection fees.
