Surrey Nature Centre

If it’s a walk in the park you’re looking for, look no further than Surrey, BC. But if it’s a complex and compelling nature story you’re on the hunt for, Green Timbers Urban Forest should be your first stop.

After all, Green Timbers is known as the birthplace of reforestation in British Columbia. At a time when roads were being built and homes erected, Green Timbers’ renaissance sparked Surrey’s passion for greenery. The second-growth forest could tell many tales if it were given the chance. And lucky for us, it does.

The Surrey Nature Centre is nestled among the trees at Green Timbers Urban Forest, and is dedicated to educating our young ones about the importance of green spaces. The Surrey Nature Centre has plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to keep young minds buzzing. So plan your visit and get ready to explore!

If hiking and trails are your passion, join in-person or live, virtual guided nature walks. The walks are designed for all ages and will go rain or shine so be prepared. Or visit the park on your own and take a stroll along the Story Trail featuring a different story book every month.

Once you’ve had a chance to take in the wonders of the forest, return to the Nature Centre for Nature Story Times and an Exploration Room full of tactical treats like building blocks and crafts.

So get your boots dirty and your minds active, and visit a little slice of Surrey dedicated to keeping things green.
