Water Views

A Surrey specialty is our proximity to several bodies of water. The city borders Boundary Bay and Mud Bay in the South, The Fraser River in the North, and is home to several natural and man-made lakes.

Crescent Beach

Located in South Surrey and bordering Boundary Bay, Crescent Beach is the perfect place to take in that fresh ocean air. Enjoy natural hiking trails and play some beach volleyball, or if you’re more into that beach bum life spread out on the beach or the large grassy area and watch the sun sink into the horizon.

Brownsville Bar Park

11931 Old Yale Road

As one of the only places along the Fraser River with a sandy beach, Brownsville Bar Park is a waterfront treasure. Walk along the 300 meters of beach, try your hand at fishing, and enjoy the views of river and of New Westminster that sits on the opposite shore.

Mud Bay Park

13030 – 48 Avenue

For excellent views of the changing tides, head to Mud Bay Park. A bird watchers paradise, Mud Bay is an essential habitat and one of Canada’s most valued Bird and Biodiversity areas. Home to many shorebirds and waterfowl, you have a good chance of seeing some feathered friends, and if you’re lucky you may even catch a seal along the coast.

Surrey Bend Regional Park

Visit one of the few undyked sections of the lower Fraser River and enjoy 5 kilometres of hiking trails, much of which borders the water. Surrey Bend Regional Park also features a nature discovery playground and picnic shelters, making it an ideal destination for a fun outdoor adventure.

Surrey Lake Park

The Lake in Surrey Lake Park might be man-made, but it’s become an important habitat for lots of wildlife. With scenic nature trails and opportunities to view stunning wildlife such as deer and eagles, it’s a lovely place to get in touch with nature.
