Surrey’s Summer Festivals

Summer is Surrey’s season to shine.

There’s something about that warm summer air that inspires friends and family to come together under bright blue skies. Be it the sunshine finally breaking through, or the perfect conditions to enjoy Surrey’s many outdoor spaces, festival season has officially kicked off in Surrey. From exciting cultural celebrations and food festivals to epic concerts and community parties, make the best of the sunniest season with Surrey’s summer celebrations.  We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite events, but be sure to visit our calendar of events for a complete list of festivities:

Surrey Greek Food Festival | June 7 – 16
Discover the vibrant flavours of Greece at the Surrey Greek Food Festival from June 7 to 16, 2024. This delightful event invites everyone to indulge in Greek delicacies, from savoury meals and tasty snacks to rich coffee and delectable desserts. Each night, the festival comes alive with captivating live entertainment. Experience traditional Greek dances, lively bands, and performances from diverse local groups that celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of the community. (13181 96 Avenue)

Car Free Day | June 8
Car Free Day Surrey, will take over 137th Street and transform the street into a pedestrian paradise with multiple stages, artisan vendors, local merchants and family-friendly fun! This is a free community festival; free of cars, promoting active transportation, focused on families and the promotion of local business. (7300 – 7360 137 Street)

5X Fest Block Party | June 15
The 5X Fest Block Party kicks off Canada’s largest South Asian youth event with a day-long multi-artist outdoor concert showcasing live performances from many of Metro Vancouver’s finest entertainers.  The all-ages, outdoor event will also include art installations, a vendor village, and food vendors. (Surrey Civic Plaza | 13450 104 Ave)

National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration & Wellness Event | June 21
Hosted by Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and Katzie First Nations, this event is an opportunity to acknowledge and show respect and admiration for Indigenous Peoples past, present and future; to share cultural history; and to share spirit, experiences, stories, song, art and dance with each other and the community. The in-person event will include cultural sharing from the local First Nations with teachings and practice through art, music, storytelling, dance and more. (Bill Reid Millenium Amphitheatre | 17728 64 Ave)

Pride Festival | June 22
2024 celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Surrey Pride Festival! This year’s festival will include performances by Queer as Funk and a female impersonation drag show headlined by Canada’s Drag Race finalist, Kendall Gender! (Surrey Civic Plaza | 13450 104 Ave)

Canada Day | July 1
Surrey Canada Day is Western Canada’s premier Canada Day event. Every year, the City invites residents and visitors to experience a day full of free, family-friendly entertainment, amusement rides, exhibitor booths, an Indigenous Village, food trucks and a fireworks finale. FVDED in the Park | July 5 – 6
Western Canada’s largest all-ages in-city music festival promises an edgy, high-calibre lineup and state-of-the-art stages for this annual two-day electronic dance music festival. (Holland Park | 13428 Old Yale Road)

Latin Festival – July 13 – 14
The largest Latino festival in British Columbia, Surrey Latin Festival is a family-friendly, inclusive, and multicultural event. It recreates the atmosphere of a vibrant city square in Latin America. The arts displayed include live musical artists, artisans, food trucks, displays of traditional arts and crafts from different countries, and more. (Surrey Civic Plaza | 13450 104 Ave)

Fusion Festival – July 20 – 21
Surrey’s annual Fusion Festival truly has everything a culture connoisseur looks for in an event. Incredibly diverse and delicious cuisine, musical and dance performances, 50+ cultural pavilions, and of course, a never-ending supply of family-friendly activities. Come hungry (admission is free!), and leave inspired.  (Holland Park | 13428 Old Yale Road)

Honeybee Festival | July 27-28
This one’s for the whole family! The Honeybee Centre is opening up their hive for all to see and celebrate. Join in on honey tastings, watch live “bee beard” demonstrations, and enjoy the local artisan market. The best part? This event is free and drop-in friendly. (7480 176 Street)

Summer Sunflower Farm Days | August 17-18 & 24-25
Summer Farm Days are back at Gabriel Farms (Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch). Fun for the whole family. Stroll Sunflower Lane, a 600′ lane with sunflowers on both sides for the perfect family photo. Wander through the mini corn maze and visit the very friendly goat family. Hop on a wagon ride and let your imagination run wild in the play area. (Admission is $10) (18507 20 Avenue)

Salmon Sessions Music Festival |  August 24
Come out with your family and friends for an unforgettable day filled with live music, food trucks, a beverage garden, guided hatchery tours and camaraderie at the 2nd annual Salmon Sessions Music Festival. (Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club | 1284 184 Street)
