Dukes Ice Cream in Clayton Heights may be the new kids on the block (they opened in February 2021) but they have already won a spot in the hearts of Surrey’s ice cream lovers. The ice cream is handmade using natural ingredients and many of the flavour combinations feature ingredients from local businesses like the Republica Coffee and Republica Earl Grey (from Republica Coffee Roasters), Lemon Blueberry Swirl featuring The Preservatory’s blueberry preserves, and the Milk Chocolate Toffee Chip featuring Fraser Valley Gourmet’s Almond Butter Crunch. And they have vegan options available. Duke’s scoops cones and cups, as well as take-home pints, and all of their flavours can be spun into milkshakes!

The Praguery, one of Metro Vancouver’s favourite food trucks, can be found serving up their creamy soft-serve and chimney cakes in Surrey’s Guildford Town Centre! The chimney cake is a crisp yet fluffy traditional eastern European pastry which is rotisserie-baked in front of you, then filled with your choice of soft serve filling and toppings. Purists love the Prague O.G. – vanilla soft serve with a fresh strawberry, but be sure to try the the Nutella drizzle, or the mixed berry filling, or the mango or caramel! And, if it’s just the ice cream you’re after, you can order a pint to go.

Bingsoo, a traditional Korean dessert is the star of the menu at Snowy Village. Perfect on a hot day, bingsoo is essentially shaved ice, except instead of freezing water, they freeze milk, sugar and condensed milk and then shave it into, well, a bowl of “snow”, and then this is where the fun starts. Pile your “snow” high with toppings like strawberries, blueberries, mango, oreo cookies, milk chocolate, red bean or cheesecake, and don’t forget the whipped cream and ice cream!
