Surrey Ice Cream Spots to try this Summer

Summer is here which means more sunshine, higher temperatures, and obviously more ice cream! And, while we love classic vanilla or cookie dough scoops as much as the next guy, there are lots of amazing variations of this favourite summer treat on offer at parlours, cafes and shops across Surrey.  Read on for a few favourites that will satisfy the ice cream craving and maybe treat your tastebuds to a flavour explosion that you may not have tried before.

Dukes Fine Ice Cream
104 – 6758 188 Street
Dukes Ice Cream in Clayton Heights has won a spot in the hearts of Surrey’s ice cream lovers. The ice cream is handmade using natural ingredients and many of the flavour combinations feature ingredients from local businesses like the Republica Coffee, Honey Lavender (with honey from the Honeybee Centre), Lemon Blueberry Swirl featuring The Preservatory’s blueberry preserves, and the Milk Chocolate Toffee Chip featuring Fraser Valley Gourmet’s Almond Butter Crunch. And they have vegan options available. Duke’s scoops cones and cups, as well as take-home pints, and all of their flavours can be spun into milkshakes!

Bravo Gelato
12171 Sullivan Street
Crescent Beach
Bravo Gelato may be the new kids on the block, or shall we say at the beach, but they are winning over customers with their traditional Italian gelato and sorbetti, made on-site using the freshest ingredients available. Flavours range from classics like stracciatella and lemon sorbetto, to more “exotic” flavour combinations like chocolate lavender, cherry cheesecake and “Foresta Nera”, inspired by the flavours of black forest cake. And the kids (and kids at heart) will love the always popular Birthday Cake gelato.

Snowy Village
48, 10090 – 152 Street
Bingsoo, a traditional Korean dessert is the star of the menu at Snowy Village. Perfect on a hot day, bingsoo is essentially shaved ice, except instead of freezing water, they freeze milk, sugar and condensed milk and then shave it into, well, a bowl of “snow”, and then this is where the fun starts. Pile your “snow” high with toppings like strawberries, blueberries, mango, oreo cookies, milk chocolate, red bean or cheesecake, and don’t forget the whipped cream and ice cream!

Martino’s Cappuccino & Coffee Bar
12211 Beecher Street
Crescent Beach
For classic gelato a stone’s throw away from the beach, head to Crescent Beach and stop in at Martino’s. With 110 flavours of gelato and sorbetto there is a scoop to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds. Take your cone to go and head down to Crescent Beach for a stroll on the beach to watch the sunset.

Sundae Delight
#101, 7130 – 120 Street
With a wide selection of flavours, including Kulfi, a traditional Indian ice cream and classic gelato, Sundae Delight will satisfy even the sweetest of sweet tooths. They are known for their falooda, a unique dessert made with vermicelli noodles, rose syrup, basil seeds, kulfi ice cream and condensed milk, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted!  And for those who aren’t feeling quite so adventurous, they also have 32 flavours of classic gelato to choose from.

Mama Mia Gelato
7130 120 Street

Mama Mia Gelato has been making and scooping ice cream and gelato out of their Newton location for over 20 years. Stop by for a scoop (or two), have it blended into a creamy milkshake, or take a pint to enjoy later. Their wide range of flavours ranges from classic to the more exotic, and as a speciality, they also offer Kulfi and falooda, and be sure to try their unique Kulfi sticks!
