These days more than ever we realize the need to support local businesses, and Surrey has some pretty great ones! Now, if you’re anything like us, and haven’t yet started your Christmas shopping, here’s the perfect opportunity to start ticking those gifts off your list. From boutiques and gift shops to restaurants and coffee shops, Surrey’s small businesses are going above and beyond to ensure a festive and safe shopping experience and we want to make sure that everyone who needs the support, gets it! Introducing “Shop Surrey This Christmas”!
It’s time to #ShopSurreyBC! Sign up to “sponsor” a Surrey small business to support this Christmas! We’ve curated a list of almost 60 local businesses and we hope that you’ll join us in supporting, by spending a minimum of $20 at your chosen shop (feel free to choose more than one) from now until December 24.
The goal is to help local Surrey businesses through this difficult time, and make a difference for these incredible small businesses! If 1,000 people make the pledge to spend $20 in a local Surrey business then $20,000 would be spent locally supporting our community businesses. However, if everyone in Surrey, and our visitors, spent $20 shopping locally this season in Surrey, we could generate over $10,000,000 of economic impact for small businesses in Surrey.
To show how serious we are about shopping locally in Surrey this Christmas, we’re going to give one of you $100 in gift cards to a few of our favourite local shops! By signing up to support a shop, you’re automatically entered to win!
The idea for #ShopSurreyBC was inspired by the #AdoptAShopYEG movement that Edmonton’s Linda Hoang organized this summer where over $5000 was committed to local businesses.
