Picnics in the Park
On sunny, warm days, there’s nothing like a picnic in the park. And with over 200 parks and 6,000 acres of parkland, it’s easy to find somewhere in Surrey to spread out a blanket and enjoy dining al fresco. Choose from wide-open green spaces, “secret” woodland forests or a beach with a view, here are some great, and maybe lesser known, picnic destinations in Surrey. And if you’re looking for some tasty treats to pack in your picnic basket, we have some ideas for that as well!
Load up that picnic basket or a charcuterie platter with delicacies from local speciality markets, Greco’s Specialty Foods and Delitalia Fine Foods. Greco’s is a treasure trove of European and local products. Choose from a vast selection of imported cheeses, speciality meats, olive oils, crackers, fine chocolates and more. And you’ll find delicious antipasto, Italian cheese, an amazing selection of olives and perfect picnic dishes like arancini, Mediterranean seafood salad, and savoury tortes. The grazing boxes from World of Graze are an artistic assortment of fine meat and cheese delicacies, seasonal treats, dates, local honeycomb and crackers, and are perfect for an afternoon of snacking. Or fill that basket with mouthwatering sandwiches from The Carvery Sandwich Shop or the West Village Café. And what picnic would be complete without fried chicken! Pick up a family pack of perfectly crisp fried chicken from Major Joy Flavoured Chicken. With unique flavours like Tandoori, Jamaican Jerk, Lemon Pepper and Major Hot this is fried chicken like you’ve never tasted!
