Free Light Displays

Bear Creek Lights

November 7 - 21, 2025

This is Surrey's earliest holiday celebration, celebrating the beginning of the season with mesmerizing light displays along the nature trails of Bear Creek Park. The 1 km illuminated trail will also have live performances, food trucks, and guided nature walks; it's what the locals look forward to every season. 

Visit Surrey's 60 ft Christmas Tree

November 22 - January 2 2026

Even after the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival wraps up (November 22–23, 2025), the 60-foot Christmas tree continues to glow in Surrey Civic Plaza until January 2. Snap a photo under the twinkling, towering tree and warm up at one of the many nearby cafés.

While you’re there, enjoy free (covered) outdoor ice skating, rain or shine, in the heart of Surrey’s most vibrant civic square just steps from the iconic towering tree. The skating rink will be open from December 1, 2025, to February 16, 2026, open daily from 1 pm to 8 pm, with adjusted hours from December 24 to January 1.

Bright Walk in White Rock

November 29, 2025– January 18, 2026

Just a short drive from Surrey, White Rock’s waterfront will be transformed this holiday season with a free-lighted display in Memorial Park. From November 29, 2025, to January 18, 2026, enjoy a cozy evening at the beach as you wander through glowing light installations, including a 20-foot Christmas tree, an illuminated tunnel, and the nightly-lit White Rock Pier.

Grab a hot chocolate at one of White Rock’s cozy coffee shops before a peaceful stroll along the waterfront. If you’re planning to make a night of it, many of the local restaurants offer covered and heated patios where you can savour dinner while admiring the lights, the ocean views of Semiahmoo Bay, and the city’s iconic historic pier.

Potters Christmas Store

November 1 - December 24, 2025

Step inside Western Canada's largest Christmas store. Potters Garden Centre transforms its 28,000 sq ft space into a massive seasonal shopping wonderland filled with themed décor, ornaments, gifts, collectables, and festive displays. Come hungry! There are on-site food/drink trucks before or after your spree.

Winterfest at Bear Creek Park Train

December 1 – 31, 2025

Taking place in the backdrop of beautiful Bear Creek Park, Winterfest plays host to two mini train rides thanks to the Bear Creek Park Train and Mini Golf. The Santa Express is a daytime train ride along a themed track of merry and fun displays. Take home an activity bag and a treat, and snap a photo with Santa before The Big Day. The Christmas Night Train lights up Bear Creek Park’s Enchanted Forest, accompanied by beautiful and bright light displays.

Noel Holiday Lights Festival & Bright Nights

November 28 – December 28, 2025

Get ready to experience the magic of the holiday season at Surrey’s Noel Holiday Light Festival! This spectacular celebration lights up the Cloverdale Agriplex with over 1 million sparkling lights, transforming more than 30,000 square feet into the festive wonderland of Noel Village. Visitors can explore themed zones like Santa’s Castle, Rudy’s Reindeer Stable, and a cozy Christmas Market. Don’t miss a special encounter with the Green & Grumpy Guest, plus appearances from princesses, elves, and a winter fairy, alongside live music, dance performances, and interactive light displays. Enjoy unlimited rides, crafts, live music, cozy fire pits, and holiday-themed treats. Then wander around the 1 km accessible Bright Nights outdoor light walk around the pond.
