Family Day is almost here
Take advantage of the first holiday of the year by spending quality time with your loved ones. Family Day is the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy some uninterrupted quality time. Need some inspiration? Here are some free and fun events happening right here in Surrey, BC on the big day!
Farm Fun
Spend the day at the Historic Stewart Farm for Family Day. The Historic Stewart Farm is located on the edge of the beautiful Nicomekl River and within Elgin Heritage Park in South Surrey. They’re also known for putting on one heck of a family-friendly party! You can expect fun arts and crafts, old-fashioned games, and of course, delicious baked goods from the woodstove. This event takes place on February 18, from 12:00 to 3:00pm.
Old Fashioned Families
The Museum of Surrey is a wonderful destination for families to explore its many exhibits. For Family Day the Museum of Surrey is taking it old school and hosting a day of board games for everyone to enjoy. Take advantage of a day without screens, or explore the Museum’s current exhibitions like Dinosaurs Unearthed. On display until the end of March, Dinosaurs Unearthed an up close look at prehistoric creatures with the latest findings by paleontologists. This event takes place on February 18, from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
Nature Adventure
Take a deep look into Surrey’s greenery at the Surrey Nature Centre. The day will include nature walks in Green Timbers Urban Forest, story time, and indoor and outdoor activities fit for the whole family. This event takes place on February 18, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Family Skate
Wishing you were spending the holiday on a tropical vacation? Surrey is hosting Hawaiian themed family skates across the city. Drop by the North Surrey Arena, Surrey Sport and Leisure Arena, Cloverdale Arena, or Newton Arena, no sunscreen required! Take part in on-ice activities like coconut bowling, a shark toss, and even beach ball hockey. Aloha. These events take place on February 18 at a variety of times.
