What to do this Weekend in Surrey

It’s a great weekend to get out in Surrey’s natural beauty and celebrate with loved ones. Whether it’s a community event celebrating a new partnership, or bringing residents together, there’s a lot to experience this weekend (especially on Saturday) this weekend. Discover a new park, or watch a movie in one of Surrey’s most cherished green spaces. No matter what you get up to this weekend, be sure to share your photos on social media by using the hashtag #TrueSurrey!

Movies Under the Stars
Saturday, August 12, 6:30pm

Enjoy a little #KidApprovedBC fun this weekend all while taking in Surrey’s Holland Park with the Downtown Surrey BIA’s Movies Under the Stars happening each Saturday in August. This week’s movie is the film Sing! The movie starts at dusk, but the fun begins at 6:30pm with a demonstration by the Urban Safari Rescue Society. Pack your blankets and popcorn and enjoy a family friendly movie al fresco.

Newton Days
Saturday, August 12, 12:00 – 4:00pm

Face painting, Science World shows, fresh fruits and veggies, and more are awaiting you at the community celebration: Newton Days! You can also expect live music, the opportunity to get some henna done, and local favourites the Re-Enactors will be on site bringing a little heritage, too!

Beast and Brine Grand Opening
Saturday, August 12, 12:00 – 4:00pm

Those in the community will know Beast and Brine as a Crescent Beach staple since around 2012, but did you know they recently became a part of the Windsor Meats family? To celebrate, they’re hosting a community event filled with meaty sandwiches and demonstrations, with all proceeds going towards the White Rock South Surrey Food Bank!
