The Afghan Kitchen, which is also on Surrey’s Spice Trail, serves authentic Afghan cuisine, and each mouth-watering dish uses recipes from the owner’s mother. Menu highlights include Afghan nuggets, Shami Kebab – a minced beef kebab with pickled onions, mint chutney and cumin rice, and don’t miss Shir Yakh for dessert – it’s a rosewater and cardamom gelato served with qaimaq (kind of a clotted cream) and pistachios.
